President Biden gave an address last week regarding the anniversary of COVID. My intent is not to analyze it politically as Lord knows we have plenty in line to do that. Rather, let's consider it from a HIPified standpoint.
In general, I thought he did a pretty good job. He had mostly illustrations and many good ones. He gave many examples of the losses we experienced from COVID, the effects on our kids, the events which didn't occur but should have, and some specific conversations with business persons. That enlivens a speech and heightens interest.
He added meaningful stats which make ideas concrete. He used the analogy of war to describe our battle with the virus, a vivid picture. He lined out his points well, emphasizing his motto to beat the virus, again strictly considering it from a presentation stand point.
So how would we suggest improving it, you might ask? One thought would be to emphasize the need to work together when discussing the two drug companies who are working on the vaccine. There is a great picture told by Max Lucado that would have worked well here. He tells the story of going fishing with some buddies and encountering a series of storms on each day which keep them from actually hitting the water. They get more and more irritable and battle each other worse with each day. They are at each other's throats by the end of the week. His point is simply stated that, "when fishermen don't fish, they fight!", a powerful metaphor for the need to unite around your mission. It could have emphasized that right now we all need to "fish" by battling the virus, working together to do so just like the drug companies. That's just one example of how we might add a further illustration to HIPifyIt. there are certainly other ideas we could present but hopefully you get the picture (which we could also have added!). Let us know if we can help you spruce up a presentation.
Yours in killing the wild bore, the HIPifyIt Team.
